Is Argentina a nice place?
I am thinking about becoming a foreign exchange student to Argentina, because ive heard it's kind of nice, but I also heard it wasnt. If youve been to Argentina can you give me some tips? Also what are the pro's and con's? Lastly, what language should I learn? Please HELP :} im mostly thinking of going to LaPlata, Argentina is that safe?

its cool i live in uruguay, which is close, it doesnt usually snow, but of course u need to knowthe language, tachnology isnt THAT great different outlets are needed, new currency, pros, no drinking age everyone is kind freindly place, nice beaches, cool kids sexy chiccas, fun into it sports

hi! my name is sabrina and i am from Argentina, i live near La Plata, it is a beautiful city, many people live there, but not as much as in Bs As i think you shoul come because people here are very friendly, i dont know why but we like people from other countries and cultures, you will be welcomed here the food is excellent, you have a lot to eat dulce de leche, asado, helado (ice cram) (they are delicious) empanadas etc i dont know how old you are, but here life is different from there, we go dancing at 2 am in the morning and we return home at 6 o 6.30 am (its the best part!!!) there are robers like in any other place in the world you should learn some spanish, but almost everybody knows english, :) i leave my adress, it is sabrig89@hotmail.com if you are interested, i can tell you more and practise my english and you your spanish

Argentina is a great place!!! For starter Buenos Aires is the Paris of the Americas (historical bldgs looks alike in Paris) it is a big industrialized city after all it holds the record having the widest ave/street in the world. It has a long pedestrian (Florida street) walkway full of shops, bars,restaurant & any sort of entertainment. This is the place where locals & students hang around passing time, of course its crowded with people. Like any big city you just have to be careful but nothing to worry much. In general Argentinian are very friendly people - I came in without friend & leave home back to U.S. with friends in Argentina, they are extremely nice & helpful as compared to the Chileans & Brazillian folks. Im going back there sometime soon to visit my friends. Hotels/apartment are cheap as well as the food, in contrary clothing & shoes are expensive. Argentina is humongous - going south is a nice get away to the glaciers (world renown Perito Moreno) & towards the last southernmost town of the world in Tierra del Fuego. Lastly the language is spanish.

Yes. The seasons are reversed so you can ski in Bariloche in July.

About crime, the formula is easy: The northern = The worse. Also, it is higher in those places where there are a lot of people. You should learn Spanish, but I'm pretty sure you'll find someone who speaks English pretty fast.Good luck ^^

La Plata is pretty safe, but especially for students. No one wants to mug a poor student with no money. It is full of American students at the university there, every exchange student I met in BA was actually studying in La Plata. If you watch your wallet and are careful out at night when drinking, absolutely nothing will happen. I don't feel any different there than I do in Boston, even if the crime rate is actually higher you certainly don't feel it.
