I would highly recommend that you place an ad on Craigslist/Buenos Aires. Here is the link: http://buenosaires.es.craigslist.org/ The page will be in Spanish. On the left side, click on "Envía un Anuncio" (Send an ad), then on the options list, click on "Se busca/Compro" (Wanted/want to buy). This option allows you to place an ad for free and yes, you can post it in English, explaining what it is you're looking for. (I suggest you always ask for references, including -but not limited to- other foreigners.) Just fill out the form; it will ask for a title, amount (you can simply put in $1 and discuss with parties later) and area (Buenos Aires or whatever area of town you'll be in.) Fill out the text body then hit Continue. It's pretty self-explanatory. Good luck. Edit: I overlooked the English option for this page. It's in the upper right-hand corner. Here's the link to that one: http://buenosaires.en.craigslist.org/

Talk about the people, the passion, their passion for soccer and politics. A country is not defined by its government, it's geography or even it's history. It is defined by it's people. Talk about San Martin, Evita Peron, Diego Maradona, and Carlos Gardel who was the godfather of the tango. Tell the story of Argentina through it's people.

I have a Chase ATM card, and I want to use it at ATMs here in Argentina. Which banks accept them?

I have a Chase ATM card, and I want to use it at ATMs here in Argentina. Which banks accept them?
I'm an American student, living in Argentina for about 6 months while I fulfill my study abroad credit for my university. I have money in my account, and I have credit cards but I don't want to use them here. I keep them in my room, locked up for safekeeping, haha. So I use my ATM card to withdraw cash. Up until recently my card worked fine at Banco Ciudad, (yeah, they charged me, but it's not terrible) but today it wasn't working. Is it just because it's a national holiday? I'm very confused as to what other banks I could use, or how to withdraw money from them, because my Spanish isn't perfect. I can understand, I just have difficulty speaking at times. If anyone could give me some sort of advice, that would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!

Banco Ciudad is a good option. And may-be both the holi-day and week-end complicated your cash withdrawal. But just look at the back of your debit card and check which logo you have. http://visa.via.infonow.net/locator/global/ResultsDisplayAction.do?uid=X1791096-1281999242-ac130104

Has anyone been to Puerto Iguazu, Misiones, Argentina?
I'm spending a year there in 2010 (student exchange). What's the community like? The school? The atmosphere etc

All I know from being there twice is the waterfalls and national park are beautiful! http://www.southamericanpostcard.com/cgi-bin/place.cgi?argentina-iguazu

The national park, with the falls and the trails, is simply breathtaking. I remember the town being rather small (but then again, I had just come from Buenos Aires...) but the people were friendly and the food delicious.
