Can my Argentine girlfriend come visit me In the USA?
I want to surprise my Argentine girlfriend with a ticket to come visit me in the USA. SHe is currently a Student in Argentina. She would stay for no longer than 30 days. Can she get a visa on arrival? if not what steps would i have to take to ensure a smooth passage?

Talk to the Consulates office in your area, they will help you. I have family and friends in Brazil they are back & forth between the U.S. & Brazil all the time. We go to the Brazilian Consulate office and they help us with the necessary arrangements. I twon't be a surprize for her, but she can come and visit. Its the country of Columbia that we have the most restrictions on.

No way this can be a surprise for her. It is a long process that she will have to be involved in. She will need a Visa to enter the US. There are many types of Visas. Tourist Visa, Student Visa, Fiancee Visa, Spousal Visa, etc. Be aware that young single women from Argentina will almost NEVER be granted a tourist Visa. Homeland Security are no fools. They know once she gets here she aint gonna leave. If you are an elderly couple who own your own home in Argentina, no problem. Bring your tourist money and visit our wonderful country. But if you are a young single woman - sorry - America is closed for you. You could propose to her and bring her in on a Fiancee Visa, but that process takes about 10-12 months. You could marry her and bring her here on a Spousal Visa, double that delay. Other Visas have similar delays and other restrictions that may or may not apply to her. So you might as well change your plans and go see her for the surprise cause the chances of her coming here for a visit are about zilch. BTW - I am currently about half way through the wait for a fiancee visa for my Chinese G/F. I feel your pain man, but we are but pawns....
